We are certainly in the festive season now - everyone is worrying about food, shopping, money, fitting in friends and Christmas parties etc. Due to the seasonal festivities I have not been widely telling people about the fact I will be running the London Marathon for fear it will get lost in the festive hype! I plan instead to spread the news further and wider in the New Year.
I will also be commencing my full on marathon training in January...! Running and exercise are big passions of mine so I will not be starting totally from scratch - but will certainly be increasing my weekly running miles! I will be keeping fit over Christmas too, although I must admit I have already been enjoying the food and drink at various social gatherings! I completed the Lincoln Santa Fun Run today, a lovely 3.5km loop around the Bailgate area of Lincoln - which if you are not familiar to the city features the famous Cathedral and Castle. It was the first time I have completed a Santa Run and I really enjoyed it! It was quite surreal seeing hundreds of Santa's everywhere - a sea of red and white covering Lincoln's streets. It was also lovely to see families and friends taking part together - real festive spirit!
I have a number of festive runs planned over Christmas (not all dressed in a red and white suit!)...so watch this space for further festive updates!
